Reviewed by Grant Harmsworth ......... Having just received the book "The Waveney Lifeboats" by Nicholas Leach, I would recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in 44's. I would rate this book four out of five stars. Although thin, (88 pages) Mr. Leach has packed a great deal of information into it. Although the book deals mainly with 44's in RNLI service the author has traced the history and importance of these vessels in other nations service. I found the book well researched and documented. My only misgivings with the book, is that I wish there were more photos. Sir may I add, that living in Canada I was not able to locate this book at any of my local sources. I ended up having to order online through Shetland Times in the UK. I received prompt and courteous service from them, so I would like to recommend them to your overseas visitors.
